“ We finally made it to have a meal at Pertinence. After making a reservation 3 months ago. I can say it’s definitely worth every penny. A Japanese and Malaysian chef use their experience to give French dishes a fusion twist. A plus is that they ask by mail and once again in the restaurant if any of us have any allergies. Currently they have a 70EUR and 95EUR set menu per person. We opted for the 70EUR , 3 course menu. Accompanied by 2 amuse bouche at the start. We chose a glass of champagne each. Really good and fresh one. Starter bœuf tataki ; very tender sliced beef served with some vegetables and cappuccino cream sauce and eringi mushroom. The sauce really surprised us and matched perfectly with the rest. Main was 2 different sliced fish and saint jacques served with cauliflower. Last dessert homemade chocolate ice cream served with blueberry-blackcurrant duo sauce. Tip: Do always check in advance if you can still reserve as you can’t enter on the spot. ”

“ #43 see my Marathon des étoiles list. Haute cuisine by a Japanese Malaysian couple trained in the best French restaurants. As I usually say, being a Japanese chef in Paris is highly competitive. Especially in the Haute cuisine segment paradoxically. So what is standing out here? Like great restaurants, not just one thing, several little things. The couple, the elegance, the products and their origins. The couple is Malaysian Japanese, you have the quality of execution of the Japanese, but the Malaysian side brings nice touches and spices to the plates. The elegance of the place and the plate. The place is elegant (with a little trick with the cellar, see the pictures). It’s not over the top and opulent. No, it’s elegant. Like the plates (not just the tableware) are well balanced, beautifully designed. The chef plays well with acidity to keep the dish fresh, light and yet full of flavors (see pictures). The products and their origin. A special care is taken sourcing at the right places. For instance the fishes are from a small fisherman Rafin, in St Gilles Croix de vie, Vendée, delivering them fresh and of super quality, products. It shows in the plate and in the palate. The crowd was friends, couples and I think business. I would go for a business lunch with a client foodie. The mood / dress code: it’s Haute cuisine but in a very small restaurant. Just dress well but no new for anything flashy. It’s a bit minimalist, you ll be out of synch. It’s a top tiers one star. My experience: I spent a great moment. The Malaysian side surprised me, the well balanced construction of the meal seduced me. Update 2022: went back after a year. I have nothing but praise about this restaurant. It managed to surprise me after a year and even after all the Michelin that I’ve done. It is definitely a top tiers one star. I will most definitely come back as soon as I can. ”

“ Lovely elegan place ran by wonderful people. Once in a life time experience! Food was delicious. Served in a very special combinations of ingredients. We loved every bite of it, and every bite was a completely different from the one before. Work of art! ”
“ On the last day of Paris, while we were disappointed with the dinner the day before.....we found this restaurant. No place for the dinner so we had lunch. Light and gai atmosphere mixed well with modern style interior. I felt well served by the sincere professional chef. Normally I don't take the picture of food but I did. The interesting combination of the French, Japanese and Malaysian cusines concocted by the wife and husband chef duo was just sensational. The husband chef welcomed and served every guest himself, took time to explain the dish, and he was very friendly. In addition to the amazing dishes and service, the plating and cozy ambiance added an additional nice touch.
